Miles Overview
This is Alfa Romeo's classic Italian roadster, the one people cross-shop with a Triumph TR7 or a Fiat 124 Spider. The Spider feels lively and eager, with a raspy engine note and a chassis that rewards smooth inputs on a twisty road. The ride is on the firm side and the cabin is snug, but that's the trade for a convertible that feels connected to the road. Inside, it's a simple, driver-focused cockpit with a manual soft top and just enough room for two and a weekend bag. The Veloce is the top-trim Spider, with a more powerful engine and sportier touches than the base model. This Veloce pairs its eager twin-cam four with a manual transmission and rear-wheel drive, good for 21 mpg combined.
