Miles Overview
The 1990 Alfa Romeo Spider is the classic Italian two-seat convertible, the one that's been around since the mid-1960s with a shape that still turns heads. It's a light, rear-drive roadster with a twin-cam engine that loves to rev, and the steering is quick and talkative in a way modern cars just aren't. Reliability is part of the character: these cars need regular attention, but owners who stay on top of maintenance find them rewarding and surprisingly durable. The Veloce is the sportier of the two Spiders, with a hotter cam and higher compression than the Graduate, and you get a limited-slip differential and a closer-ratio gearbox. The Veloce's stiffer springs and anti-roll bars sharpen the handling, but the ride is firm and the chassis can get busy on rough pavement.
