2024 Dodge Hornet R/T

The 2024 Dodge Hornet is the brand's new compact SUV, slotting below the Durango and bringing a European-bred platform to the lineup. It goes up against the Mazda CX-5, Honda CR-V, and Toyota RAV4, but with sharper styling and more performance focus. The Hornet handles with a quick, responsive feel that's rare in this class, and the R/T's hybrid adds instant torque for a strong launch. The ride is firm, especially on the R/T with its sport-tuned suspension, which is the trade-off for its agile cornering. Inside, the cabin is modern with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, and cargo space is competitive for the segment, though rear legroom is a bit tight. The 1.3L I4 plug-in hybrid makes 285 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, with the electric motor providing a strong launch off the line and the ability to run on electricity alone for short commutes. The R/T comes standard with Sport mode, paddle shifters, and adaptive cruise control, and the ride is firm to match its sharper handling character.
