Miles Overview
The 2016 Renegade is Jeep's smallest SUV, a boxy runabout that blends brand heritage with a playful, urban-friendly size. It squares off against the Honda HR-V, Chevrolet Trax, and Subaru Crosstrek, but stands apart with its off-road-ready Trailhawk trim. The Renegade feels nimble in town, though the base engine needs a firm foot for quick acceleration; the Trailhawk's low-range gearing adds real trail capability. Inside, the cabin is a mix of rugged textures and Jeep-inspired details, but rear legroom is tight and the plastics feel budget-minded. Available tech includes a clear rearview camera with guidelines, proximity keyless entry, and heated seats and steering wheel. The Sport is the base Renegade, skipping the Latitude's extra chrome and the Trailhawk's off-road gear to hit the lowest price. With the 2.4L I4 and six-speed manual, the Renegade is a lively runabout but you'll work the gears to keep up with traffic; the EPA rates it at 25 mpg combined. The Sport's standard 16-inch steel wheels wear all-season tires, a simple setup that's easy to replace and fine for light snow but not serious trails.
