Miles Overview
The 2025 XC40 is Volvo's compact luxury SUV, slotting below the larger XC60 and competing with the BMW X1 and Audi Q3. The XC40 feels nimble and eager in the city, with light steering and a responsive powertrain that makes it easy to place in traffic. The ride is firm but well controlled, a trade-off for the sharp handling that keeps the XC40 composed on winding roads. Inside, the XC40 offers a clean, minimalist cabin with comfortable seats and a practical, upright cargo area. Standard tech includes a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a suite of driver assistance features. The Core is the XC40's starting trim, with cloth seats and 18-inch wheels, skipping the Plus and Ultra trims' nicer upholstery and larger screens. Its 2.0L I4 hybrid makes 247 horsepower and uses a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, giving it smooth starts and 26 mpg combined. The Core comes with heated front seats and a power driver seat standard, which is rare for a base luxury trim.
