Miles Overview
The Golf R is Volkswagen's top hot hatch, the one that takes the everyday Golf and sharpens everything about it for driving enthusiasts. The ride is firm, which is the trade for how flat it stays through bends, but it settles down nicely on the highway. Despite its performance focus, it still offers the Golf's practical hatchback body, with a usable back seat and a decent cargo area. Stepping up to the DCC & Navigation trim from the base Golf R adds adaptive damping and a navigation system, so you get a sharper, more customized ride and easier route guidance. The 2.0L I4 makes 292 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, and with the seven-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, it launches hard and stays planted through corners. The DCC system lets you choose Comfort, Normal, or Race modes for the dampers, which is the main reason to pick this trim over the standard car.
