Miles Overview
The GTI is Volkswagen's hot hatch, the one that started the whole pocket-rocket class and still defines it. It's the rare car that's genuinely fun to drive every day, with eager turn-in and a chassis that communicates. The cabin feels a cut above the Golf's, with plaid cloth seats and a driver-focused layout that's held up well. It's still a practical hatchback, so you get a usable back seat and a cargo area that swallows a surprising amount. The Autobahn is the top GTI for buyers who want heated leather seats, a sunroof, and the premium sound system without moving to a different car entirely. Its 2.0L I4 makes 200 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque, routed through a six-speed manual and front-wheel drive, which keeps the front tires working to put the power down in tight corners. This trim alone offers a touchscreen navigation system with a rearview camera, a rare luxury in the 2011 hot-hatch world.
