Miles Overview
The 2011 Golf is Volkswagen's compact hatchback, the car that gives the brand its fun-to-drive reputation. It's a genuinely engaging little car, with sharp steering and a chassis that makes you want to take the long way home. Inside, the Golf feels more upscale than its price suggests, with a clean dash and supportive seats that make long trips easy. The hatchback body gives you a surprisingly roomy cargo area, and the rear seats fold flat to swallow bulky loads. The TDI is the diesel Golf, trading the GTI's hot-hatch thrills for outstanding fuel economy and a lower price. Its 2.0L I4 makes 140 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque, enough to pull away from stops with authority, and it returns 34 mpg combined.
