Miles Overview
This is Volkswagen's upscale mid-size SUV, the one that competes with the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz ML. It drives with a composed, planted feel that makes long highway miles easy, and the steering is precise for a vehicle this size. The cabin is spacious and quiet, with comfortable seats and a power hatch that opens from the key fob or a dash button. A 3.6L six-cylinder and standard all-wheel drive set the VR6 FSI apart from the TDI Sport, which trades power for diesel efficiency. The 3.6L I6 makes 280 horsepower and works with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, delivering smooth power and a composed feel on any surface. Fuel economy is 19 mpg combined, which is typical for a heavy SUV with a gas V6 and permanent all-wheel drive.
