Miles Overview
The Tiguan is VW's compact SUV, the one you cross-shop with the RAV4 and CR-V when you want something a bit more European. It's genuinely quick off the line, and the steering is tight, so it feels more like a hot hatch than a typical small SUV. The ride is smooth and the cabin stays quiet, though the back seat and cargo area are on the snug side for the class. A few owners mention the sunroof shade can come loose and the painted bumpers chip easily, but most report trouble-free miles. The SE sits between the front-drive SEL and the loaded models, adding all-wheel drive and a few extra comforts for a reasonable step up. Its 2.0L I4 makes 200 horsepower and pairs with the six-speed automatic, sending power to all four wheels and returning 23 mpg combined.
