Miles Overview
The S4 is Audi's performance version of the A4, offered as a sedan, wagon, or convertible. The cabin feels solid and upscale, with supportive Recaro seats up front, though rear legroom is tight for adults. Owners warn that maintenance costs are steep, and some have dealt with oil consumption or timing chain issues. The S4 Cabriolet is for those who want the V8 performance without the sedan’s fixed roof, trading the Avant’s cargo versatility for open-air thrills. Its 4.2L I8 makes 344 horsepower and 302 lb-ft of torque, routed through a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, which hustles this convertible to 60 mph in about 5.5 seconds. The automatic transmission is the only gearbox offered here, so if you want the six-speed manual, you’ll need the sedan or Avant.
