The 2017 Macan is Porsche's compact SUV, the one that brought sports-car feel to the crossover class. It drives like a Porsche should, with sharp steering and a chassis that stays flat through corners. The cabin is snug but well built, with supportive seats and a driver-focused layout that puts everything within reach. Cargo space is modest for the class, so you'll trade some utility for that handling. Stepping up to the GTS from the S gets you a tuned version of the same V6 with more power, standard air suspension that lowers the ride height, and the sport exhaust system with black tailpipes. Its 3.0L V6 makes 360 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, and it earns 19 mpg combined. The standard air suspension with PASM is tuned firmer than the S's, so the GTS corners flatter but the ride is tauter on rough pavement.
