2022 Porsche Macan Base

The Macan is Porsche's compact SUV, the one that brings sports-car feel to a practical body. It's one of the sharpest-handling SUVs you can buy, with steering and body control that feel almost like a hot hatch. The ride is firm, especially on larger wheels, but that's the trade-off for how flat it stays in corners. The cabin is nicely built and driver-focused, though rear legroom and cargo space are tighter than in rivals. The base Macan sits below the S and GTS, giving up some power but keeping the same sharp chassis and all-wheel-drive grip. Its 2.0L I4 makes 261 horsepower and routes through a seven-speed automatic, which is enough for quick daily driving but not the thrill of the V6 trims. The optional Sport Chrono Package shaves the 0–60 time to 5.8 seconds and adds a drive-mode selector on the steering wheel.
