Miles Overview
This is Porsche's entry-level roadster, the one that gives you mid-engine balance without the 911's price tag. The mid-engine layout makes it wonderfully balanced, and the steering feels direct and talkative on a back road. The ride is firm but composed, and the seats hold you well during spirited driving without feeling harsh on a commute. The standard 17-inch wheels and black brake calipers set the Base apart from the S, which gets bigger wheels and red calipers. With 225 horsepower and 199 lb-ft of torque from the 2.7L I6 sent to the rear wheels, this Boxster feels eager and responsive through the gears. The power soft top operates in about 12 seconds, even at speeds up to 31 mph, so you can drop it without pulling over.
