2007 Porsche Cayman S

The Cayman is Porsche's mid-engine coupe, a more balanced and lighter alternative to the 911 that still feels every bit a Porsche. Its mid-engine layout gives it superb balance, and the steering is so communicative you'll find yourself taking the long way home. The ride is firm but compliant, and the cabin stays quiet enough for daily use, though the low stance means you'll watch for steep driveways. There's a front and rear trunk, but both are modest, so pack light for weekend trips. The S is the Cayman for drivers who want the extra punch over the base model, with a bigger engine and sharper suspension tuning that make it feel more serious on a back road. Its 3.4L I6 makes 295 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque, and with the six-speed automatic it's smooth in traffic but still eager when you push it, though the manual is the purist's pick.
