2021 Porsche Taycan

The Taycan is Porsche's first all-electric sedan and wagon, its answer to the Tesla Model S and Audi e-tron GT. It drives with the poise you'd expect from a Porsche, with instant throttle response and a low center of gravity that makes it feel planted through corners. Inside, the cabin is modern and driver-focused, with a curved digital cluster and a central touchscreen that controls most functions. The Cross Turismo wagon body adds a hatchback and more rear headroom, making it the more practical choice for hauling gear. Stepping up from the 4 Cross Turismo to the 4S adds more power, sharper handling hardware, and a sportier look without the wagon's extra weight. The base Taycan uses a single rear motor good for 402 horsepower and 254 lb-ft of torque, with a two-speed transmission that gives it strong off-the-line punch and good highway efficiency. Steel springs with adaptive dampers are standard, but the adaptive air suspension is worth the upgrade for the way it smooths out rough pavement and lowers the car at speed.
