Miles Overview
The Hardtop is MINI's classic two-door hatchback, the one that started it all and still the most playful car in its class. It feels like a go-kart on the road, with quick steering and a firm ride that keeps body roll in check. The cabin is snug but stylish, with a big central speedometer and toggle switches that give it a retro-modern vibe. Rear seats fold flat to expand the small cargo area, though the back seat is best for occasional passengers. The base Cooper skips the Cooper S's extra power and the John Cooper Works's track-focused hardware, but it keeps the same playful chassis and costs thousands less. Its 1.5L I3 makes 134 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic, which is enough to hustle through city streets without ever feeling frantic. Fuel economy is a standout here at 32 mpg combined, so you can enjoy the go-kart handling without frequent stops at the pump.
