Miles Overview
The S-Class is Mercedes-Benz's flagship luxury sedan, also offered as a coupe and convertible, and it competes with the BMW 7 Series and Audi A8. The S-Class glides over pavement with a serene, controlled ride, and the powerful engines make it feel effortlessly quick when you need to pass. Inside, you get a lavish cabin with plush seats and high-quality materials, though the coupe and cabriolet have smaller trunks than the sedan. Expect premium fuel and pricey maintenance, but owners say the S-Class is worth the cost for the comfort and performance it delivers. Stepping up to the S 560 from the S 450 gives you a 4.0L V8 with 463 horsepower and a richer standard equipment list, including upgraded leather and more advanced audio. The 4.0L V8 pairs with a nine-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive, delivering effortless acceleration and a smooth, quiet highway cruise at 20 mpg combined. This convertible's power soft top operates at speeds up to 30 mph, so you can drop it without pulling over.
