Miles Overview
The S-Class is Mercedes' flagship luxury sedan, with coupe and convertible versions for those who want the same opulence in two doors. It wafts along in near silence, yet the AMG versions transform it into a serious performance machine when you want to hustle. Inside, the cabin is a masterclass in luxury, with massaging seats, ambient lighting, and rear seats that rival first-class airline pods. Expect premium fuel and maintenance costs that match its six-figure price tag, but the experience is hard to match elsewhere. The S 63 AMG coupe swaps the S 560's V8 for a hand-built 4.0L V8 with 603 horsepower, and adds AMG-specific suspension and a sport exhaust. All-wheel drive and that engine get you to 60 mph in about 3.4 seconds, yet the EPA rates it at 20 mpg combined on premium fuel.
