Miles Overview
The 2015 S-Class is Mercedes-Benz's flagship, a full-size luxury sedan and coupe that sets the benchmark for the segment. It competes with the BMW 7 Series, Audi A8, and Lexus LS, offering a blend of opulence and technology that few can match. Despite its size, the S-Class accelerates with surprising urgency, and the steering is quick and responsive for such a large car. The ride is exceptionally smooth and cushioned, making long drives effortless, though the coupe's trunk is notably small. Inside, the cabin is lavish with outstanding seats, rich materials, and a state-of-the-art infotainment system that has a learning curve. A hand-assembled biturbo V8 and AMG's Performance 4MATIC set the S 63 AMG apart from the standard S 550, while the V12-powered S 65 sits above it. Its 5.5L V8 makes 577 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque, sent through a seven-speed automatic to all-wheel drive, which gives it explosive acceleration and tenacious grip in any weather. The coupe body means you get four seats and two doors, and the sport-tuned air suspension delivers a firmer ride than the sedan, but it still glides on the highway.
