Miles Overview
The B-Class is Mercedes-Benz's compact, tall-roof hatchback, built for maximum interior space in a small footprint. It handles city streets with ease, and the low center of gravity from the battery pack helps it feel planted through corners. The upright shape gives you generous headroom and a surprisingly usable cargo area for a car this size. Electric running costs are low, but as an early EV, real-world range is limited compared to today's standards. The B 250e is the sole electric version of the B-Class, and it swaps the gas engine for a battery pack and electric motor. Its electric motor makes 177 horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque, sent through a continuously variable automatic (CVT) to the front-wheel drive, and Mercedes quotes 87 miles of range. A full charge takes about 3.5 hours on a 240-volt outlet, which is reasonable for overnight top-offs.
