Miles Overview
The S-Class is Mercedes-Benz's flagship luxury sedan, also offered as a coupe and convertible, competing with the BMW 7 Series and Audi A8. It glides over pavement with a serene, isolated ride, and the powerful engines make highway merging effortless. Inside, you get a lavish cabin with plush seats and high-end materials, though the coupe and convertible have small trunks. The infotainment system has a bit of a learning curve, but once you get used to it, the array of features is impressive. Stepping up to the S 560 swaps the base V6 for a biturbo V8, the Nappa leather interior, and a power sunroof as standard. The 4.0L V8 makes 463 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, routed through a nine-speed automatic to all-wheel drive, and returns 19 mpg combined. The panoramic sunroof and soft-close doors come standard here, adding to the quiet-luxury feel you expect from the flagship.
