Miles Overview
The S-Class is Mercedes' flagship luxury sedan, with coupe and convertible versions for those who want the same opulence in two doors. It wafts along in near silence, yet the AMG versions transform it into a serious performance machine when you want to hustle. Inside, the cabin is a masterclass in luxury, with massaging seats, ambient lighting, and rear seats that rival first-class airline pods. Expect premium fuel and maintenance costs that match its six-figure price tag, but the experience is hard to match elsewhere. The S 450 is the entry point to S-Class ownership, trading the V8 of the S 560 for a smoother ride and lower running costs. Its 3.0L V6 makes 362 horsepower and pairs with a nine-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive, delivering a relaxed, quiet cruise with 22 mpg combined. The standard AIRMATIC air suspension soaks up bumps beautifully, though you give up the AMG's sportier tuning.
