Miles Overview
The CLA is Mercedes' entry-level sedan, a compact four-door that trades a bit of space for a sleek, coupe-like roofline. The base CLA 250 is quick enough for daily driving, while the AMG version turns the same body into a genuinely rapid little rocket. The ride is on the firm side, especially with the larger wheels, so you'll feel sharp bumps more than you would in a softer luxury car. Inside, the cabin looks and feels premium for the price, though rear headroom is tight for tall passengers and the trunk is modest. Stepping up to the CLA 45 AMG from the CLA 250 adds the AMG-tuned all-wheel-drive system and a much hotter engine, so you're getting serious performance for the extra money. The 2.0L I4 in this CLA 45 AMG makes 375 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, and it's paired with a seven-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, so it launches hard and grips tenaciously in corners. With 26 mpg combined, you'll visit the pump more often than in the base car, but the AMG's explosive acceleration makes it a fair trade.
