Miles Overview
The 2007 S-Class is Mercedes-Benz's flagship sedan, the car that sets the tone for the entire luxury segment. It drives with a composed, planted feel that makes long highway miles effortless, though the big wheels can be hard on rough pavement. Inside, the cabin is a showcase of luxury, with comfortable leather seats, a massage feature for front passengers, and an ambient lighting strip that wraps the interior. Owners report few major issues, with the most common complaint being wheel damage from potholes on the larger rim sizes. The S 65 AMG steps up from the S 600 with a hand-assembled AMG V12, a firmer suspension, and 19-inch forged wheels. Its 6.0L V12 makes 604 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, routed through a five-speed automatic to the rear-wheel drive, and it'll show you 14 mpg combined if you're gentle. The AMG-tuned air suspension keeps the body flat through corners, but expect a stiffer ride than the standard S-Class.
