Miles Overview
The 2008 S-Class is Mercedes' flagship sedan, the car that sets the tone for the rest of the lineup. It wafts down the road with a quiet confidence that makes long trips feel effortless. Inside, you get a cabin that feels special, with comfortable seats and ambient lighting that wraps around the interior. Parts are pricey when something does need fixing, and the thirst for fuel is real, so budget accordingly. If you want V12 smoothness without the full AMG aggression, the S 600 is the sweet spot between the S 550 and the S 65. The 5.5L V12 makes 510 horsepower and 612 lb-ft of torque, routed through a five-speed automatic to the rear wheels, giving effortless, silent thrust. Fuel economy is 13 mpg combined, and the air suspension delivers a pillowy ride that isolates you from the road.
