Miles Overview
The SL is Mercedes' grand two-seat convertible, a roadster that pairs open-air luxury with serious performance. It's a car that feels at home on a winding road, with a composed ride and precise steering that inspire confidence. Inside, you get an elegant cabin with wood accents and leather seats, though the folding hardtop eats into trunk space. Some owners mention loose window seals that let in wind noise at highway speeds, and the auto start-stop can be abrupt. Its 3.0L V6 makes 362 horsepower and pairs with a nine-speed automatic, returning 23 mpg combined on regular fuel. The SL 450's standard steel springs give a slightly softer ride than the adaptive suspension on the SL 550, which suits its grand-touring character.
