Miles Overview
The G-Class is Mercedes-Benz's boxy, body-on-frame SUV, a luxury off-roader that's been a staple for decades. It drives with commanding presence, and the high seating position gives you a great view of the road ahead. Inside, the cabin is roomy and comfortable, with plenty of space for passengers and cargo. Owners report solid reliability, though some mention squealing brakes and the dated infotainment system. The G 63 AMG is for buyers who want the G-Class's off-road capability plus a hand-built biturbo V8 and AMG-tuned suspension, while the G 550 keeps things more civilized. Its 5.5L V8 makes 563 horsepower and 561 lb-ft of torque, routed through a seven-speed automatic and four-wheel drive, and it'll get 13 mpg combined. The AMG-tuned suspension is firm, and with the side-exit exhaust, you'll hear the V8's character every time you get on it.
