The G-Class is Mercedes' boxy, go-anywhere SUV, the one that's been a status symbol for decades. It drives like a truck, with a commanding view and a ride that's firm and truck-like, but that's part of its charm. Inside, you get a cabin that's more utilitarian than plush, with plenty of room up front but tight quarters in the back. The G 63 AMG is the fire-breathing version of the G-Class, trading some ride comfort for brutal acceleration and a more aggressive look than the G 550. Its handbuilt 5.5L V8 makes 536 horsepower and 561 lb-ft of torque, routed through a seven-speed automatic and all-wheel drive that can handle serious off-road work or a 0–60 run in the mid-5-second range.
