Miles Overview
The 2006 SLK-Class is Mercedes' compact two-seat roadster, the one with the folding hardtop that turns from coupe to convertible at the touch of a button. With the top down, you'll notice the quick steering and the way the chassis stays composed through fast corners, making it a genuinely fun car to hustle. The cabin is snug but well laid out, with leather seats and a bright wood console, though some owners find the plastics a bit cheap for a Mercedes. Owners report that the roof seals can leak over time, and the radiator may need replacing as the car ages, so check those on a used example. The SLK 350 is the sweet spot for buyers who want the V6's extra punch over the SLK 280 without jumping to the AMG's price and firmness. Its 3.5L V6 makes 268 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic, giving you enough torque to squirt through traffic without revving hard. Expect 19 mpg combined on premium fuel, which is typical for a quick V6 roadster from this era.
