Miles Overview
The 2006 E-Class is Mercedes' mid-size luxury sedan and wagon, the car you cross-shop with the BMW 5 Series and Audi A6. It drives with a calm, planted feel that flatters on long trips, and the steering is nicely weighted for a car this size. Inside, the cabin is a quiet, well-built place with supportive seats and a classic analog clock that owners love. Electrical gremlins can pop up as the car ages, so a well-documented service history is worth hunting for. The E 350 uses a strong V6 instead of the V8 in the E 500 or the AMG's high-strung V8, saving thousands at purchase and at the pump. Its 3.5L V6 makes 268 horsepower and pairs with a seven-speed automatic that shifts smoothly, and you'll see 20 mpg combined on regular driving.
