Miles Overview
This is Mercedes' mid-size two-door, offered as a coupe or convertible, and it's the car you cross-shop with the BMW 3 Series coupe and Audi A5. It's a grand tourer, so it glides down the highway with a calm, planted feel, yet it still hustles through corners with confidence. The cabin is a quiet, well-built place with supportive leather seats, and the convertible's top seals out wind noise when it's up. Running costs are on the high side, and the small trunk is the price you pay for the folding roof. The 5.0L V8 pulls smoothly from low revs and the seven-speed automatic shifts quickly, but you'll see 18 mpg combined around town. The convertible's power top operates in about 20 seconds, and the trunk's 8.6 cubic feet of cargo space is tight with the roof stowed.
