Miles Overview
The S-Class is Mercedes-Benz's flagship sedan, the one that sets the standard for full-size luxury cars. The ride is exceptionally smooth, soaking up bumps with a gentleness that makes long trips a pleasure. Inside, the cabin is spacious and plush, with comfortable seats and thoughtful touches like heated seats and a sunroof. Expect electrical gremlins and pricey repairs as it ages, and the premium fuel adds to running costs. Choose the S 600 over the S 500 for the silky 6.0L V12, extra power, and the cachet of Mercedes-Benz's top V12 flagship. The 6.0L V12 produces 362 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque, moved by a five-speed automatic to the rear wheels delivering effortless, turbine-like acceleration. Fuel economy is 16 mpg combined, the trade for the smooth, strong V12 in a heavy 4,488 pounds sedan.
