Miles Overview
This is Mercedes-Benz’s flagship sedan, the one that sets the tone for the entire luxury segment. It glides over bumps and corners smoothly, with a braking system that feels gentle and confident. The cabin is spacious and comfortable, with heated seats and an electronic dashboard messaging system that feels ahead of its time. Plan for premium fuel and high repair costs, especially if electrical issues arise. The S 500 gives up the V12 and some luxury extras of the S 600, but it's still a flagship sedan with a strong V8 and all the comfort you'd expect. Its 5.0L V8 makes 302 horsepower and pairs with a smooth automatic transmission, sending power to the rear wheels for effortless highway cruising at 21 mpg highway.
