Miles Overview
The SLK is Mercedes' compact two-seat roadster, the one with the folding hardtop that turns it from coupe to convertible at the push of a button. Cabin space is tight, and with the top down the trunk shrinks to almost nothing, so pack light for a weekend away. Owners mention the roof seals can leak over time, and the folding top may need realignment after years of use. The SLK 320 is the one to get if you want the V6's smooth torque without stepping up to a pricier AMG; the 230 Kompressor is the thriftier four-cylinder. The folding hardtop is standard on every SLK, so you get the coupe-like quiet with the top up and open-air driving at a button's press.
