Miles Overview
This is Mercedes-Benz's two-seat roadster, a compact convertible that trades practicality for pure driving fun. The cabin is snug, as you'd expect, and the trunk shrinks when the top is down, but the push-button hardtop is a party trick that still impresses. Owners report that the retractable top may need realignment over the years, and a leaking differential seal can be costly if ignored, but many cars have gone well past 200,000 miles. The base two-seat roadster, the SLK 230 is the entry point to the SLK-Class, with a smaller engine and fewer luxury features than the SLK 320 that sits above it. Its 2.3L I4 makes 185 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque, and the five-speed manual sends power to the rear wheels, giving it a lively, eager feel around town.
