Miles Overview
Inside, the cabin is snug but well built, with premium materials and a driver-focused layout that suits its sports car character. Gull-wing doors and a carbon-fiber passenger cell set the i8 apart from BMW's other hybrids. The 1.5L I3 plug-in hybrid makes a combined 228 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, with the rear wheels driven by a six-speed automatic and the fronts by an electric motor for all-wheel drive. EPA-rated at 27 mpg combined, the i8 returns fuel-economy numbers no other supercar can match.
