Miles Overview
The i3 is BMW's compact electric city car, a rear-wheel-drive wagon that stands apart with its carbon-fiber passenger cell and slim footprint. It feels quick off the line and handles nimbly around town, though the ride is firm and the tall stance means some body lean in corners. Inside, the cabin feels airy and modern, with a roomy four-seat layout and a versatile rear cargo area for its size. Owners report occasional issues with the rear-hinged back doors and some early reliability complaints, but the driving experience is generally well liked. Its 0.6L I2 plug-in hybrid makes 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, and the continuously variable automatic (CVT) sends power to the rear wheels for a zippy, responsive feel around town.
