Miles Overview
The X3 is BMW's compact SUV, a smaller, sportier alternative to the 3 Series wagon and a rival to the Audi Q5 and Mercedes GLK. It feels nimble and eager, with a quick off-the-line response and a quiet, smooth ride that makes it easy to live with daily. The cabin is roomy for its size, with generous cargo space and comfortable seating, plus a large sunroof and heated seats on many examples. Owners mention occasional electrical gremlins and leaks, and repairs can be pricey if you're not handy with a wrench. The 2.5i is the entry-level X3, giving you the same agile chassis and all-wheel drive as the pricier 3.0i but with a smaller engine. Its 2.5L I6 makes 184 horsepower and pairs with an automatic transmission, which feels eager around town but runs out of steam on highway passes.
