Miles Overview
The 2011 M3 is BMW's high-performance version of the 3 Series, offered as a coupe, sedan, or convertible. Its high-revving engine and balanced chassis make it a joy on a back road, though the ride is firm and the rear can step out if you're not careful. The cabin is well-built and comfortable for long trips, but rear seat space is tight for a sedan, and the convertible's trunk is small. Owners report that maintenance can be pricey, especially if you don't do it yourself, and the iDrive system from this era is clunky. A power-folding hardtop and a stiffer body set the convertible apart from the M3 coupe and sedan. Its 4.0L I8 makes 414 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive, but the extra weight dulls the throttle response a bit.
