Miles Overview
This M5 is the high-performance version of BMW's 5 Series sedan, the one enthusiasts cross-shop with the Mercedes E55 AMG. It's a sedan that shrinks around you on a back road, with a chassis that communicates exactly what the tires are doing. The ride is firm, but the trade is body control that keeps the car flat through fast corners. Inside, you get supportive sport seats and a clean dashboard, with a trunk that fits a weekend's luggage. This M5 is the one enthusiasts pick because it's the only way to get the sedan with a manual transmission and no extra weight from all-wheel drive. The 4.9L I8 makes 394 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, routed through a six-speed manual to the rear-wheel drive, which means you're rowing your own gears and steering with the throttle.
