Miles Overview
The M3 is BMW's high-performance version of the 3 Series, offered as a coupe or convertible for 2005. It's a genuinely quick car that loves to rev, and the steering feels direct and connected to the road. The chassis is stiff and the suspension is firm, so it corners flat and inspires confidence, though the ride is on the harsh side. Owners report that the SMG transmission can be expensive to fix, and interior trim pieces may crack in hot climates. The convertible M3 is for buyers who want open-air thrills without giving up the coupe's high-revving character; the coupe is lighter and stiffer if you prioritize track days. Its 3.2L I6 makes 333 horsepower and pulls hard all the way to redline, and the six-speed automatic shifts smoothly but lacks the manual's engagement.
