Miles Overview
The M3 is BMW's compact sports sedan, offered as a coupe, sedan, or convertible for 1998. It's the kind of car that makes you find the long way home, with a high-revving engine and telepathic steering. The near 50/50 weight balance and firm suspension make it a joy on twisty roads, though the ride is on the stiff side. Owners warn that maintenance and parts are pricey, and the staggered tire setup can eat through rubber quickly. The convertible body sets the Base apart from the coupe and sedan M3 trims, adding open-air fun but also more weight and a bit less chassis rigidity. The 3.2L I6 sends 240 horsepower to the rear wheels through a manual transmission, making every gear change deliberate and rewarding.
