Miles Overview
The M5 is BMW's high-performance luxury sedan, the one that blends a business-class cabin with serious track capability. It's the rare sedan that feels equally at home on a long highway cruise and a tight canyon road, with a chassis that stays composed even when you push. Inside, you get a well-built cabin with supportive sport seats and a comfortable back seat, though the trunk is on the smaller side for a car this size. The iDrive system is one of the easiest to use in the business, and the digital gauge cluster is crisp and configurable. The Competition drops the CS's extra power and track-focused tuning, saving a good chunk of money while keeping the core M5 experience. The 4.4L I8 makes 600 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, and the eight-speed automatic snaps off shifts with a crisp authority that matches the engine's relentless pull. This trim gets adaptive dampers that let you soften the ride for daily driving or firm it up for a track day, and the exhaust button actually changes the note.
