The M4 is BMW's high-performance coupe, the two-door sibling to the M3 sedan, and it goes up against the Audi RS5 and Mercedes-AMG C63. It's a sharp, focused driver's car, with quick steering and a chassis that feels eager on a back road, though the ride is firm in everyday driving. The cabin is driver-focused with supportive seats and quality materials, but rear seats are tight and the coupe's trunk is modest. Standard tech includes a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with iDrive 7, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Its 3.0L I6 sends 473 horsepower through a six-speed manual to the rear wheels, delivering a raw, engaging feel that the automatic-only Competition trims can't match. Carbon-ceramic brakes were optional on the Base trim, and the ride is firm enough that the adaptive dampers from the Competition package aren't missed much.
