Miles Overview
The M4 is BMW's high-performance version of the 4 Series, offered as a coupe or convertible. It's seriously quick, and the chassis feels balanced and eager through corners. The cabin feels upscale, but rear headroom is tight and the trunk is modest. Expect higher insurance, fuel, and maintenance costs than a standard 4 Series. The Base M4 comes with the same 3.0L I6 and 425 horsepower as the Competition model, but uses a six-speed manual instead of the optional dual-clutch automatic. With six-speed manual and rear-wheel drive, the M4 rewards smooth shifts and feels lively through corners, though the EPA rates it at 20 mpg combined.
