2023 BMW M4 Competition xDrive

The M4 is BMW's mid-size performance coupe, and it's the one you cross-shop with the Audi RS5 and Mercedes-AMG C63. It's a sharp, engaging driver's car that rewards smooth inputs, and the steering is quick and precise. The ride is firm, especially in the stiffest settings, which is the trade-off for how flat it stays in corners. The cabin is driver-focused with supportive seats and a clean layout, though rear space is tight and the trunk is modest. All-wheel drive and a rear-biased xDrive system set the Competition xDrive apart from the rear-wheel-drive Competition, giving you extra traction without dulling the steering feel. BMW's M Drive Professional, optional on this trim, adds a lap timer and drift analyzer; the trade-off is fuel economy around 18 mpg combined when you use that power.
