2017 BMW M2 Base

The M2 is BMW's compact performance coupe, the one enthusiasts cross-shop with the Audi RS3 and Mercedes-AMG CLA45. The steering is quick and talkative, and the car stays flat through corners, making it a joy on a back road. Inside, the cabin is snug but well built, with supportive seats and a clean layout that puts the driver first. The M2 is the only trim of the 2 Series that gets the 3.0L I6 and the tuned chassis, so you're not giving anything up to a lesser version. Its 365 horsepower from the 3.0L I6 goes to the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic, and the car feels eager to rev and easy to rotate on corner entry. The M2's standard adaptive suspension keeps the ride firm but controlled, and you'll notice the active differential helping put power down on exit.
