Miles Overview
The 1 Series is BMW's entry-level model, a compact coupe or convertible that focuses on driving fun over luxury. It's a rear-drive BMW, so the steering feels direct and the chassis loves a twisty road. The cabin is snug but well-built, with supportive seats and a clean, driver-focused layout. Stepping up to the 135i from the 128i adds a more powerful 3.0L I6 and a sport-tuned suspension, making it the enthusiast pick of the lineup. The 3.0L I6 sends 300 horsepower to the rear-wheel drive through a six-speed manual or automatic, and the car feels eager to rev and quick off the line. Fuel economy is 20 mpg combined, which is expected for a performance coupe with this much power on tap.
