Miles Overview
The 3 Series is BMW's compact luxury sedan, offered this year as a sedan, wagon, coupe, and convertible. It's the benchmark against which the Audi A4 and Mercedes C-Class are measured. The steering feels direct and the chassis is eager, making it a joy on a twisty road. The ride is firm but compliant, a fair trade for the sharp handling. The 335d is the diesel choice in the 3 Series lineup, offering more torque than the 335i while sacrificing a bit of top-end power. Its 3.0L I6 makes 265 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive, and it returns 27 mpg combined. Expect strong low-end pull from the diesel, but also a bit more engine noise than the gas 335i.
